The Embodiment Conference.
In November, 15,541 people including 130+ renowned teachers came together at the Embodiment Conference (TEC). TEC was a groundbreaking event for the global embodiment community. Bringing embodiment online in a major way. We explored a wide range of embodiment topics, including yoga, therapy, creativity, natural movement, meditation, martial arts, bodywork and ecology. If you’re interested in the body, there was something for you. It was a great way to both deepen your current understanding and broaden your perspectives. it went far deeper than anyone thought previously possible online.
The conference connected people who love embodiment all around the world and broke down barriers between them. All presentations were recorded so you can watch them in your own time and use the conference sessions as an ‘embodiment library’.
Our goal is to create a global community, and make embodied learning available to everyone.
Watch on your devices – computers, tablets, smartphones
THIS CONFERENCE WAS FOR YOU IF YOU ARE:
• A yoga practitioner, bodyworker, dancer or martial artist who loves embodiment and wants to see its full range
• A coach, therapist or facilitator who wants a deeper dive into working with the body
• Someone who is just curious about the subject and doesn’t know where to start
WHAT PEOPLE RECEIVED:
• Greater depth in your embodied specialism and broader knowledge of other areas
• Practical new tools and applications for their personal and professional life
• Professional exchange and community with other like-minded people
It really was MUCH deeper, broader and more connecting than we imagined was possible from an online event.
Thank you note from the conference host, Mark Walsh
“I love embodiment. Since I was a child it’s been my life, passion and work. In that time I’ve also witnessed the global reach of embodiment spread with the internet’s rise. The world needs embodiment as a way out of many of its ills, now more than ever before. Through YouTube, podcasts, social media and online learning, I’ve seen people from diverse fields start to come together, and those who didn’t have access before, are now being given it freely. Nothing makes me happier than this technology-enabled, somatic revolution, and with the conference we accelerated this. TEC was successful beyond what we dreamed with 15,541 people signing up and a level of connection, community and depth achieved that we didn’t think was possible online. We also had A LOT of fun. Because the quality of the sessions was so high, more people also bought the recordings than I could have imagined too so I didn’t break the bank.
We tuned into a Zeitgeist, a “movement movement”, something much bigger than we expected. It was a truly wonderful experience and I would like to thank all those involved especially the presenters, core team and the many volunteers for making it happen. I’m also delighted so many projects have already blossomed from the conference – for example the peer-to-peer circles LINK and upcoming “TECy” mini-conferences in 2019.
At the conference, we envisioned and did something bold. What Google has done with information, the conference started to do with embodied experience: to make what is wise, world-changing and always at hand, freely available to all. We connected those globally who share passion for this work, and offered leaders in this field a wider reach for the good that they do. I am truly madly deeply satisfied with TEC2018 and look forward to reaching many more people in 2020 when we’ll be back: bigger, better and bolder than ever. Thank you, thank you, thank you all.”
Some of the presenters that have had the best feedback include:
Betsy Polatin – a top student of Peter Levine on trauma and quick-win stress tools
Wendy Palmer – a masterful session on Leadership Embodiment
Jamie Catto and Dave Rock – what creativity looks like
The Peace Panel – Paul Linden and co. show us how to make peace in the body
Rachel Blackman – embodied tips for the zombie apocalypse!
The Trauma Panel – more on this deep topic
Martin Aylward – meditation for real life
Martha Eddy – a wonderful interactive somatic session from a world leader
Miles Kessler – a real master of online training on why we need polarity
Curtis Watkins – how to coach with the body
Mark Walsh – several well received sessions when he wasn’t organising on how to sell embodiment and on finding life purpose through the body
Please note, there are no recordings by Steve James, Dan Doherty, Amy Mathews or Charles Eisenstein in this package for various reasons…still…that leaves over 130 presenters to watch!

Lisa Petersen: The power of yield: making gravity your friend, and how it can change your life (Yoga)
Yielding is a verb. It is something we do. It is how we mediate the dance between the magnetic pull of gravity that grounds us, and the corresponding rebound that connects us to space (and the gracious uprightness that is our birthright). Yielding is about consciously giving, receiving, trust and surrender on a deep physiological level. It’s a skill that, once learned, can change your life and your movement practice. Come play, move, explore and transform.
This is a guided yoga practice. You will need a yoga mat and some floor space.

Staying creative in the face of depressing news and terrible odds. How do we stay creatively alive? How we might we use mistakes, failure and feeling ridiculous as an opportunity for connection, humour and intimacy? Because without creative agency in the face of overwhelmingly depressing news and terrible odds, we are spiritually lost. This is an opportunity to practice failure and enjoy it. Maybe we wont die...’
